A Picture of Independents

A professional photographer is searching for past and present Independent Candidates to photograph for an exhibition in a gallery to be held shortly after the election.

The project is an inspiration from commercial photographer Daniel Bosworth. He is attempting to gather a group of 20 to 30 Independent Candidates who are currently running, or have previously run for the General Election or the European Parliamentary Election. The purpose of the exhibition is to document the growing phenomenon of independent candidates. “My take on independent candidates is that they're breathing life into our tired party politics and I think that should be documented. I think it will be of considerable interest” said Dan Bosworth.

Several people are already involved in the project including John Hemming-Clark who is a Prospective Parliamentary Candidate (PPC) for Old Bexley and Sidcup and Haroon Saad who ran in the 2009 European Election.

Daniel Bosworth makes his living as a commercial photographer, working for clients such as Harley Davidson, Visit Britain, The National Trust and is currently working on portraits for the London cycling campaign.
