Independent Network invokes a media storm

Independent Network invokes a media storm

Tom Bletsoe – the youngest endorsed Independent Network candidate – made history at the St Ives, Cambridgeshire by-election where he became the UK’s youngest elected politician. On learning of his success the Independent Network press office rolled into action.

We immediately wrote a press release and sold it in to the national media.   The Independent Network arranged for Tom to appear on BBC Breakfast. We met him at 5am on Sunday 13th February and took him to the BBC TV Centre in West London.  At 6.45 Tom was interviewed by two BBC anchors, Charlie State and Susannah Reed.  His impressive early morning appearance can be viewed here: http://bit.ly/fYR4XU

We also organised for Tom to be interviewed in Politics Home and Politics.co.uk and arranged for him to write a blog on the Guardian website.

Enticed by the press release and following his appearance on national television the Daily Mail, the Mirror, the Independent, BBC News 24, BBC Breakfast, the Press Association and many more followed, and interviewed Tom or covered his victory.

If you would like the Independent Network to work hard on your behalf please get in touch, commit to the Bell Principles and gain an Independent Network endorsement.
